Story

Wiltshire BIG WHEEL 50 miles Mum was diagnosed with lung cancer in March 2010 and left us 9 months later on New Years Eve. Dunc and I are going to cycle 50 miles to raise money for the Roy Castle Charity. We wanted to do something positive in mum's name. She was such a warm hearted and generous person. I think the hardest bit for Dunc will be keeping me on my bike as we go up the hills! You can check out the route on http://www.bike-events.com/Ride.aspx?id=308 Every pound raised for the Roy Castle Tribute Fund goes directly to the Foundation and will help towards research into prevention and early diagnosis. Maybe your donation will give someone a chance to stay a bit longer with the people they love. To have days like the one pictured. Anything you can give is very much appreciated so THANK YOU! 13TH JUNE. WELL WE DID IT! CYCLED 50 MILES IN 6 HOURS IN THE POURING RAIN. OUR TWO GOOD (OR MAD?) FRIENDS JO AND LESTER JOINED US FOR THE BIKE RIDE. IT WAS SO COLD AND WET THAT A LADY GOT HYPOTHERMIA AND WAS CARRIED OFF IN AN AMBULANCE! THE BIKE RIDE TOOK US THROUGH SOME BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES AND COUNTRYSIDE. WE SAW IT ALL UNDER THE HEAVY VEIL OF RAIN. KNOWING I WAS RAISING MONEY FOR MUM AND THIS GREAT CHARITY MADE IT ALL FEEL WORTHWHILE. CLICK ONTO GALLERY FOR WET T SHIRT PICS!
